Introduction

King George III, the King of Britain, loosely enforced the Navigation Acts in the American Colonies before the French and Indian War. The colonies were then able to freely trade and make money.

After Britain lost the French and Indian War the King of Britain  began to  was look for a way to pay their war expenses. The King  decided to have the thirteen colonies pay for the war. This triggered a number of events that led to the American Revolution.

The major causes of  the American Revolution were:

The failure of the Albany Plan of Union

Quartering Act

Stamp Act

Townshend Acts

Boston Massacre

Boston Tea Party

Many colonists challenged these injustices imposed by the  King in the hopes of gaining liberty and freedom from Britain. These challenges led to the war called the American Revolution.
