Process
You are to imagine you are  newspaper photographer editor during the Industrial Revolution. Some photographs have just been sent to you for your observation. You find the photographs very disturbing!

  In this project you will describe these photographs and write a newspaper article trying to persuade people about the injustices of child labor in America during the Industrial Revolution.

 

Part I
Part II
1. In Part II of  this project you are to write a newspaper article to protest the use of child labor during the Industrial Revolution. Be sure to include a title page, main idea, and supporting details in your article to support your protest. Use the forwarding link to write your published article:

 Your article should contain a minimum of four paragraphs excluding your thesis and conclusion paragraph. Here is a link to help you write an essay:

2. Use your notes from Part I and  the following link to help you with research with the  main idea and supporting details of your article:

3.  Proofread your article and be sure to check  for spelling and grammar

4. Turn in your published newspaper article to your teacher for a evaluation. Remember not to plagiarize!

5. You will present your article to your classmates. They will evaluate your article in a group activity. Your teacher will give you the details on this activity in class.

Part III

1. In Part III you are to complete the activity on the Statue of Liberty. Your teacher will evaluate your answer sheet.

 

In Part I of  this project you are to create a PowerPoint Presentation describing a variety of children working during the Industrial Revolution in America. You must follow these instructions to complete the project. You will be graded for each part of the project using a rubric.

 

1. You are to to take notes by answering the questions on your  Child Labor and the Industrial Revolution note taking worksheet. Answer the questions by referring to the Powerpoint Slide Show.

2. You are to create captions for the Powerpoint Slide Show. Save the Powerpoint slide show to your school file and create the captions according to you teacher's instructions given in class.
