The students will learn about child labor during the Industrial Revolution.  The students will make inferences about the role child labor played during the Industrial Revolution.

•   The students will use several sources of information, in addition to an encyclopedia, in developing research reports

•   The students will identify an appropriate format for sharing information with an intended audience

•   The students will take research notes, using a note-taking process, with assistance

United States History Standard: Unit 7 The Industrial Revolution, Standard 1,4 and 5

  • The students will respond to hardships placed on working conditions for children.

  • The students will compare child labor of the late 1800's and today.

  • The students will examine pictures of people doing different jobs in the late 1800's.

  • The students will present findings a a photo collage or news report.
