The delegates to the Constitutional Convention strongly believed they were acting in the best interests of the United States when they adopted the Constitution for ratification by the states based of the principles of a democracy.  Having completed your class activity, and looking back at the the great theories on a democracy, you should develop a greater understanding of how these theories led to the development of the United States Constitution.
